Security Officer - Part Time

About the role

As a Security Officer - Part Time in Champaign, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution, and more. Join a leading team where flexibility meets opportunity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or drivers by following security-related procedures, location policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with site contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, trailer yards, parking areas, loading and unloading zones, and perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activity and/or unusual conditions.
• Monitor entry and exit activity for employees, visitors, and/or deliveries, assisting with badge or credential checks, visitor logs, and traffic direction in accordance with location requirements.
• Support loss prevention and operational continuity by reporting damaged gates, lighting issues, open doors, and/or other security-related or property concerns observed during patrols.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
