Security Officer - Part Time Unarmed Patrol

About the role
As a Part-Time Unarmed Patrol Security Officer in Herndon, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Commercial Real Estate. This role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you and explore new opportunities using our Claim a Shift platform. As an Unarmed Patrol Officer, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, support access control and badge processes, and provide exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and/or employees by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control protocols, and emergency response activities at a commercial real estate location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, tenant concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of building interiors, exterior grounds, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and maintain accurate logs of patrols, incidents, deliveries, and other site activity using a computer logbook.
- Assist with maintaining an orderly environment by reporting facility hazards, suspicious activity, and/or maintenance concerns to appropriate site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Access control or badge experience is preferred.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Pay
$22.00 / hour
Schedule
- Daytime shifts on Saturday and Sunday: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
