Security Officer - Part Time Unarmed Patrol

About the role

As a Part-Time Unarmed Security Officer in Springfield, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Government. This role offers flexibility to build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using our Claim a Shift platform. You will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will respond to security-related concerns, communicate clearly, and deliver exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at government facilities.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help identify unusual activity and report observations.
• Monitor access points, verify authorization as required, and maintain awareness of visitor, vehicle, and employee activity in accordance with site procedures.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports of incidents, observations, and daily activities, and communicate relevant information to site contacts and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• At least one year of security-related experience.
• At least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles).
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• State, county, or city-issued security license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

$22.38 / hour

• Saturday: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
• Sunday: 12:00 AM - 08:00 AM
