Security Officer - Part Time Unarmed

About the Role

Allied Universal® is seeking a Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced (Pepper Spray Patrol) in Falls Church, VA. This position offers a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands‑on experience, or work toward a full‑time career with the industry leader. You will be assigned to a specific site with a reliable base schedule and have the opportunity to pick up additional shifts for extra earnings.

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): hired for a designated site and weekly shift with a six‑month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: pick up extra shifts through the scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.
• Part‑time hours one week, full‑time the next, with the ability to scale up to 40 hours per week or scale back as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established reporting and notification procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout healthcare facilities, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, provide directions or assistance as needed, and report unusual conditions to appropriate site contacts.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation in accordance with site‑specific requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• At least two years of security‑related experience.
• Pepper spray certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles (21+ for armed roles).
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment, depending on state and/or local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
