As an unarmed Security Officer in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and provide exceptional customer service and communication. You will help create a welcoming, secure environment for staff, visitors, and patients while reflecting Allied Universal’s agile, reliable, innovative, and people-first culture through teamwork and integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or contractors at a public health location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disruptive behavior, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned interior areas, exterior grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas; report unusual conditions, hazards, and policy concerns.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures; assist with directing visitors and maintaining orderly entry and exit operations.
• Prepare clear, accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and patrol documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.

Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
