Security Officer Medical Facility Part Time Security Support

This position is the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced role at a medical facility in the Bronx, NY, designed to provide reliable, consistent hours with flexibility to pick up additional shifts.

Pay

$17.87 – $18.87 per hour

Schedule

Daytime shift: 11:30 PM – 08:00 AM

How This Role Works

• Fixed‑Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): Hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as a reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six‑month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim‑A‑Shift Program: In addition to the fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part‑time one week and full‑time the next, up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, patients, staff, and vendors by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities at a government healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established post orders and escalation protocols.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned buildings, entrances, waiting areas, parking areas, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
• Monitor access points, verify authorized entry when applicable, and report suspicious activity, hazards, and maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Complete required reports, maintain accurate activity logs, and communicate observations and incidents with Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• Meet hospital vaccine requirements.
• A valid guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
