Security Officer Part Time Dispatch

This role includes a fixed‑shift “anchor” assignment with the option to pick up additional shifts through the Claim‑A‑Shift program.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors by carrying out site‑specific security procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Receive and prioritize incoming calls, radio traffic, and service requests; dispatch security personnel to campus locations as needed.
• Monitor communication systems, alarms, cameras, and other assigned equipment; report unusual activity and coordinate appropriate responses.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly, communicating relevant information to campus personnel and emergency responders.
• Maintain accurate dispatch logs, incident records, and shift communications; coordinate regular and random patrol activity around campus buildings and perimeter areas.

Requirements

• At least one year of security‑related experience.
• CPR certification (preferred).
• Customer service experience (preferred).
• Guard card or license (preferred).
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
• Drug screen as required by law.
• Licensing requirements may apply based on state or local regulations.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Pay

$15.50 per hour

Schedule

Daytime Friday, 10:00 PM – 06:00 AM (fixed‑shift “anchor” shift with a six‑month commitment; additional shifts available via the Claim‑A‑Shift program).
