This Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position is a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement their income, gain hands-on experience, or work toward a full-time career. As a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Access Verification in Rockaway, NJ, this role provides reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility to earn more by picking up additional shifts.

• Fixed-Shift Commitment (“Anchor Shifts”): You will be hired for a designated site and weekly shift that serves as your reliable base schedule. This assignment requires a six (6) month commitment.
• Earn More, Claim-A-Shift Program: In addition to your fixed shift, you may pick up extra shifts through our scheduling platform, allowing you to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites. Work part-time hours one week and full-time the next—it’s up to you. This role is ideal for candidates seeking part-time employment with flexibility, income stability, and opportunities to build up to a full-time schedule of up to 40 hours per week, with the option to scale back when needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, access control requirements, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and manage access points, verify visitor and vendor authorization, maintain visitor logs, and direct guests in accordance with residential community procedures.
• Respond to incidents, resident concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of residential common areas, entry points, parking areas, and the property perimeter to help identify unusual activity and deter unauthorized access.
• Prepare accurate activity reports, incident documentation, and shift communications in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of security-related experience.
• Proof of a high school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles).
• A state, county, and/or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet (preferred).
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
