Security Officer (Night Shift)
About the role
Your role as a Security Officer (Night Shift) involves patrolling the ballpark to ensure a safe environment, responding to incidents, conducting investigations, and maintaining security protocols.
Responsibilities
- Patrols all ballpark property as required
- Ensures security of employees, contractors, and visitors in a friendly and professional manner
- Responds to safety and criminal incidents, contacting emergency services if necessary
- Conducts detailed internal investigations and prepares reports
- Inspects vehicles entering the loading dock, verifies deliveries, checks driver identifications, and logs deliveries
- Maintains closed-circuit surveillance, access control, and fire alarm systems
- Attends briefing sessions to understand events and activities
- Monitors and responds to alarms, medical calls, property damages, etc.
- Greet clients, employees, guests, and vendors professionally
- Follow established Ballpark Security protocols and procedures
- Collaborate with other departments for positive publicity
- Represent the Club positively and professionally
- Complete activity logs, incident reports, repair forms, and other documents accurately and promptly
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Valid current driver's license with a good driving record
- Flexible availability for 5, 8-hour shifts per week (9:00 PM to 5:30 AM)
- Availability for overtime shifts, including weekends and holidays
- BSIS Proprietary Security Guard certification or BSIS Guard Card within 30 days of employment
Qualifications
- Maintain consistent, punctual, and reliable attendance
- High degree of discretion, integrity, professionalism, and accountability
- Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in computer skills in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience in report writing and familiarity with Motorola Solutions Avigilon CCTV System
- Previous experience working in large event or public assembly facilities
- Criminal justice or security training from a recognized academy, school, or organization
- Previous Law Enforcement/Public Safety experience
- Fluently bilingual in English/Spanish

Pay
The base hourly rate for this full-time position is $21.14. Additional compensation includes a very competitive and generous benefits package.
Schedule
Flexible 5, 8-hour shifts per week (9:00 PM to 5:30 AM), with weekly schedules varying based on operational needs, Padres games, and special events at Petco Park. Availability for overtime shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.
