Security Officer Medical Facility Control Access

Allied Universal®, North America’s leading security and facility services company, offers the Security Officer – Part Time Enhanced position at a medical facility in Patchogue, NY. This role provides reliable, consistent hours with the flexibility to pick up additional shifts through the Claim‑A‑Shift program, allowing you to supplement income, gain experience, or work toward a full‑time schedule. The position requires a six‑month commitment to an assigned site and weekly anchor shift (Monday, Tuesday, Friday 12:00 PM‑5:00 PM). Allied Universal is licensed by the New York State Department of State.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and campus guests while carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of campus buildings, academic areas, residence halls, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter locations as assigned.
• Monitor for unauthorized access, suspicious activity, facility concerns, and security‑related policy violations, and report observations through established procedures.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner, requesting additional assistance and/or emergency services when appropriate.
• Assist with access control, visitor direction, and campus event support while maintaining professional communication and accurate activity documentation.

Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Undergo a background investigation in accordance with federal, state, and local laws (qualified applicants with criminal histories considered consistent with applicable law).
• Submit to a drug screen as permitted by law.
• Meet any additional licensing requirements per state/local regulations.
• A valid driver’s license is required only for driving positions.

Pay

$20.00 per hour.

Schedule

Fixed anchor shifts: Monday, Tuesday, Friday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM. Additional shifts can be claimed via the scheduling platform to increase earnings and gain experience across multiple sites.
