About the role

As a Security Officer Medical Facility Control Access in Rego Park, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as education. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter security-related incidents, and provide outstanding customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. You will communicate professionally, report observations, and support a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, campus-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate campus personnel and/or emergency services as directed.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, common spaces, and perimeter locations to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas; verify authorized access in accordance with site procedures; and document observations and incidents accurately.
• Maintain a professional presence while providing directions, answering general questions, and supporting a welcoming educational environment.

Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State Security Guard License.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
