Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and vendors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare medical examiner facility.
- Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior and exterior areas, including building entrances, corridors, offices, parking areas, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report security-related concerns.
- Maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
- Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with site procedures, assisting with entry screening and directing individuals to appropriate areas as needed.
- Prepare accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and other required documentation while maintaining confidentiality around sensitive healthcare-related operations.
Requirements
- Possess a New York State Security Guard License.
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Able to lift up to 20 pounds, preferred.
- At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
