Security Officer Medical Facility Control Access

About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer in a healthcare setting, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, and support a secure environment for staff and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and respond to security-related concerns with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel while carrying out site-specific security-related procedures and policies at a medical examiner facility.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials as directed, maintain visitor records, and report unauthorized access or unusual activity.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner in accordance with established procedures.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of interior areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations; document observations and report maintenance or security-related concerns.
• Assist with emergency response activities, access control, and protection of sensitive work areas while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements

• Possess a valid New York State security-related guard license.
• Have at least one year of security-related experience.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED.
• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Preferred: Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

$18.87 / hour

• Saturday: 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM
• Sunday: 09:00 AM - 05:00 PM
