About the role

A Allied Universal® Security Officer Medical Facility in New York, NY, will serve and safeguard clients in various industries including Healthcare. This role offers flexibility with a Part-Time schedule and the opportunity to explore new roles through the Claim a Shift platform.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or emergency response activities appropriate to the location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting details and communicating with supervisors, first responders, and/or site contacts as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the facility, entrances, hallways, parking areas, and perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and verify identification, visitor credentials, and/or delivery activity in accordance with site protocols while helping to maintain controlled entry to restricted areas.
  • Support a professional environment by reporting hazards, policy violations, and/or suspicious behavior, and by assisting with routine security-related requests from staff and visitors.

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least 21 years of age.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security professional license is preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent.

Qualifications

  • Must pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Must be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
