As a Security Officer Medical facility in New York, NY, this role is designed to provide reliable, consistent hours at an assigned site with the flexibility for you to earn more by picking-up additional shifts when it works for you.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control activities, and appropriate emergency response actions at a healthcare-related location.
  • Respond to incidents, unusual activity, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner while documenting security-related concerns and reporting them through proper channels.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout interior areas, exterior grounds, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related issues.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify visitor and staff credentials as required, and support screening procedures consistent with location policies.
  • Aid in maintaining order in sensitive operational areas by following post orders, communicating with site contacts, and helping with incident response and de-escalation when needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • At least 1 year of security-related experience is required.
  • Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required by the client.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
  • The ability to lift up to 20 pounds is preferred.
  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
