Part-time NOC shift: Wednesday to Saturday, 11:00pm-7:30am. Pay range: $21.50-23.50 per hour.
About the role
Provides security services for residents and employees of the organization. Protects from and responds to fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry. Has additional responsibilities to train security staff and ensure other command center staff are aware of emergency procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provides quality customer service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers, and vendors.
- Trains new security staff and works any shift necessary (as determined by the security manager) to accomplish this task.
- Periodically patrols outside grounds of campus and lobbies, corridors, and public rooms of the facility to ensure safety and security of residents and staff.
- Warns violators of rule infractions (e.g., loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles) and reports or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.
- Assists Care Center with emergency maintenance issues or resident concerns, responds to fire alarms, emergency call switch activation, and other emergencies.
- Assists clinic when necessary, including escorting nurses, lifting residents who fall, and directing medical personnel on the scene of an emergency.
- Investigates and completes resident loss reports and incident reports during each shift, provides copies to supervisor, and maintains a file on them.
- Performs emergency janitorial and maintenance duties when needed, such as setting thermostatic controls to maintain specified temperatures.
- Reviews emergency response procedures with nursing staff and front desk staff, particularly when staff may be new or unfamiliar with facility procedures.
- Demonstrates competency in all aspects of security issues as determined by the security supervisor.
- May be required to drive company non-commercial vehicles.
- Familiar with all disaster, fire, and other emergency procedures as outlined in the facility disaster plan.
- Performs emergency delivery procedures, such as placing flyers on resident doors or campus-wide.
- Performs other duties as required, including unforeseen tasks that may arise.
- Follows department safety standards, practices correct body mechanic techniques, and participates in campus-wide safety programs.
- Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner, wears required PPE/safety equipment, and reports any safety hazards or accidents to supervisor.
Requirements
- First Aid certificate
- CPR certificate
- Class C California driver’s license
- Guard card
- 1-year certificate from college or technical school (or equivalent qualifications)
- 2+ years of previous Security Guard or related experience
Final candidates must successfully complete a pre-employment physical, physical abilities test, drug screen, and Department of Justice Criminal background clearance.
