About the role
As an unarmed Patrol Officer in a healthcare location, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, support access control, and provide outstanding customer service. You may assist with de-escalation and restraint of individuals when necessary while communicating professionally with patients, visitors, and staff.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and/or vendors by carrying out site-specific procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
- Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established protocols and notifying appropriate personnel.
- Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of healthcare facilities, parking areas, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
- Monitor access points and assist with visitor, patient, and staff flow in accordance with site-specific access control procedures.
- Document incidents, observations, and security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and emergency responders as needed.
Requirements
- At least one year of security-related experience is required.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED is required.
- Must be able to restrain individuals in a hospital setting.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
