About the role
As a Security Officer Full Time Vehicle Patrol Driver in Suffolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government, and more. As a Security Officer supporting a government transportation location, you will conduct routine unarmed patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, respond to alarms, and provide exceptional customer service. This primarily driving role requires a valid driver’s license in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, contractors, and/or members of the public while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities at a government transportation location.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of facilities, grounds, parking areas, access points, and perimeter areas to help identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and/or maintenance concerns.
- Monitor access to assigned areas, verify visitor and contractor authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain required visitor or incident documentation.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, traffic-related concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and/or public emergency services as directed by site procedures.
- Report observations, incidents, and suspicious activity to Allied Universal supervision and designated site contacts, completing clear and accurate written reports.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
