As a Security Officer (Full‑Time Unarmed Patrol) in Columbus, OH, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries, including government transportation locations.
About the role
You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access‑control activities, and provide courteous service to travelers, visitors, and staff. Using clear communication and a caring, team‑focused approach, you will help maintain a secure environment while reflecting Allied Universal’s values of agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to travelers, visitors, tenants, and personnel by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities at an airport location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, suspicious activity, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate airport personnel and/or emergency responders as required.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of terminal public areas, parking facilities, access points, perimeter areas, and other assigned locations to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security‑related concerns.
- Monitor access to restricted or controlled areas in accordance with site procedures, verify credentials when assigned, and report access‑control irregularities.
- Prepare accurate activity, incident, and observation reports; maintain professional communication with airport personnel, law enforcement, emergency responders, and the public.
Minimum Requirements
- Experience using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Access control and badge experience is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 + years for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Background investigation required in accordance with federal, state, and local laws.
- Drug screen required to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements may be required prior to employment, subject to state and/or local regulations.
- A valid driver’s license is required for driving positions only.
