Security Officer Full Time Unarmed Patrol Associate

About the role

As a Full Time Unarmed Patrol Associate in Bessemer, AL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Logistics & Distribution. You will monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, remain visible to deter security-related incidents, and support access control activities. You will use computer or tablet systems while delivering exceptional customer service and clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, drivers, visitors, and/or contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of loading areas, trailer yards, parking areas, access points, and the business perimeter to identify unusual activity and report security-related concerns.
• Monitor access to the location, verify authorized entry as directed by site procedures, and maintain visitor, driver, and/or vehicle activity records.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established reporting and escalation procedures.
• Document patrols, incidents, observations, and other security-related activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Requirements

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
