About the role

As an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a government corrections location in Greenville, SC, you will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter incidents, support access control, and report security-related concerns. This driving position requires a valid driver’s license in the state where the job is located.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, staff, visitors, and authorized personnel by carrying out security procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government correctional facility.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, promptly communicating observations to appropriate site personnel and emergency responders.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, parking areas, and perimeter areas; working environments and conditions may vary by location.
• Monitor access to assigned areas, verify credentials as directed by site procedures, and report unauthorized access attempts or unusual activity.
• Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation in accordance with Allied Universal and site-specific requirements.

Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
