About the role

As a Security Officer Full Time Screening Support in Kansas City, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Screener at a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will help maintain a welcoming, professional environment by monitoring access points, screening visitors and deliveries, and reporting security-related concerns. Your visible presence and strong communication skills will help to deter incidents while delivering exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, screening protocols, and emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
• Screen individuals and permitted items entering designated areas using established procedures, verifying authorization and escalating prohibited or suspicious items in accordance with site policies.
• Monitor access points, visitor activity, and screening equipment, maintaining accurate logs and promptly reporting irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established emergency procedures and notifying appropriate contacts.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned screening areas, entry points, and surrounding perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
