Security Officer - Full Time Driver Patrol

About the role
As a Security Officer Full Time Driver Patrol Communications in Granite City, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Utilities. You will conduct routine patrols, monitor assigned areas, support access control activities, and maintain a visible presence to deter incidents. This driving post requires a valid driver’s license. You will provide outstanding customer service and clear communication while reflecting Allied Universal’s values: agile, reliable, innovative, caring, teamwork-focused, and integrity-driven.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a utilities location.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
- Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of operational areas, buildings, access points, parking areas, and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized activity.
- Monitor access to the location, verify authorization for visitors and contractors, and report irregularities or maintenance concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Complete accurate activity logs, incident reports, and shift documentation while communicating relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
Requirements
- A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
- Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Access control/badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
