About the role
As a Dispatch Security Professional supporting a government transportation location, you will coordinate communications, monitor activity, document incidents, and help direct response to security-related concerns. You will provide exceptional customer service while serving as a reliable point of contact for staff and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to transit agency staff, passengers, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
- Monitor dispatch communications, alarms, cameras, and access-control systems; document, prioritize, and relay incidents, service requests, and critical information to appropriate personnel.
- Coordinate communications with field personnel, transit operations, law enforcement, fire, medical, and other emergency responders during routine and urgent situations.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and notification protocols.
- Maintain accurate dispatch logs, incident reports, and shift activity records, and conduct regular and random patrols of assigned facilities and perimeter areas when required.
Requirements
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
