Security Officer - Full-Time

About the role

The position involves providing security services at a hospital, including conducting armed patrols on foot and in vehicles to ensure safety and access control. Responding swiftly to emergencies, collaborating with law enforcement, and offering protective escort services are key responsibilities. Candidates will observe, investigate, and document security threats through interviews and incident reports, managing property control according to protocols.

Responsibilities

• Conduct secure building and grounds patrols.
• Respond to emergencies and security incidents as a first responder.
• Investigate and document safety or security threats.
• Manage property control procedures in line with security protocols.

Qualifications

• Must possess required armed security credentials such as FOID, PERC, FCC, and firearms training, with the ability to qualify and maintain proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license from Illinois, Wisconsin, or Indiana with a clean driving record.
• Able to work in physically demanding conditions, including standing, walking, and exposure to weather, while wearing body armor.
• High school diploma or GED; hospital security experience is preferred, with IAHSS certification to be obtained within 6 months.
• Demonstrates sound judgment, discretion, and strong customer service skills.
