Security Officer - Full Time - Afternoons

About the role

As a Security Officer - Screener with Allied Universal at a logistics and distribution location in Chicago, IL, you will help support a secure environment by screening personnel, visitors, and/or materials, monitoring access points, and reporting security-related concerns. You will provide professional customer service and clear communication while helping to deter incidents. Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Screen personnel, visitors, packages, and/or shipments in accordance with site requirements and applicable procedures.
• Monitor access points and verify authorized entry to help support controlled movement throughout the facility.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of operational areas, loading zones, and the perimeter; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$19.50 / Hour

• Monday: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Wednesday: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Thursday: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
• Sunday: 02:00 PM - 10:00 PM
