Security Officer Full Time Access Registration

About the role

As an Access Control Security Officer at an aerospace and defense location in Portsmouth, VA, you will manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and help maintain a secure environment for personnel and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and support security-related operations with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out site-specific security-related procedures, access-control policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor authorization, and entry requirements in accordance with established aerospace and defense location protocols.
• Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and access-related records while reporting unusual activity, policy concerns, and access-control issues to appropriate personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established escalation and communication procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas and the perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Requirements

• A Guard Card/License is preferred.
• CPR/First Aid certification is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$18.50 / hour

• Saturday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
• Sunday: 06:00 AM - 02:00 PM
