About the role
As an Access Control Security Officer at a healthcare location, you will help manage entry points, monitor access activity, respond to alarms, and support a welcoming environment for patients, visitors, and staff. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and help to deter incidents through a visible presence.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
- Monitor entry points and verify authorized access credentials in accordance with healthcare location policies.
- Maintain visitor logs, issue temporary access credentials as directed, and report access concerns or suspicious activity to appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, access points, and surrounding areas to help deter unauthorized entry and identify security-related concerns.
Requirements
- A guard card or license is preferred.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
- Customer service experience is preferred.
- Alarm panel experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
