Security Officer Full Time Access Management

About the role

As an Access Control Officer at a dynamic technology location in Columbus, OH, you will help manage entry points, verify credentials, monitor access activity, and support a secure environment for employees and visitors. You will remain visible, conduct routine patrols, help deter security-related incidents, and provide exceptional customer service and communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, contractors, visitors, and/or delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology data center location.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and issue or retrieve access badges in accordance with established procedures.
• Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns to appropriate site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, including building entrances, access points, and perimeter locations, to help identify and report unusual activity or security-related concerns.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports and other required documentation related to access-control events, visitor activity, incidents, and/or policy violations.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of security-related experience.
• Proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
