Security Officer Field Patrol

About the Role

As a Security Officer Access Control in Grand Rapids, MI, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Manufacturing & Industrial. This is a part-time, unarmed patrol officer position where you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate clearly, and respond professionally to site needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities within a manufacturing and industrial location.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established site protocols and reporting requirements.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols throughout production areas, offices, access points, parking areas, and the facility perimeter to identify and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access to the location by verifying credentials, documenting visitor and contractor entry, and directing authorized personnel in accordance with site-specific procedures.
• Assist with documenting incidents, completing daily activity reports, and communicating security-related concerns to site leadership and Allied Universal management.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
