Security Officer Dispatch Communications Specialist

About the role

As a Dispatcher at a commercial real estate location, you will coordinate security-related communications, monitor activity, manage access control and badge requests, and dispatch officers as needed. Your visible, service-focused support will help deter incidents while providing a welcoming experience for tenants and visitors.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to tenants, visitors, vendors, and/or property staff by carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related policies at a commercial real estate location.
• Monitor incoming calls, radio traffic, access control activity, cameras, and/or alarm systems; dispatch appropriate personnel and communicate updates to relevant contacts.
• Receive, document, and relay information regarding incidents, maintenance concerns, visitor activity, and emergency situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Maintain accurate dispatch logs, incident reports, key or access records, and other required documentation in accordance with site procedures.
• Coordinate routine and emergency communications with patrol personnel, building management, and first responders as directed by site-specific protocols.

Requirements

• At least 6 months of security-related experience.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• A guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
