Job Summary
Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.
About the Role
This role involves controlling access, monitoring entrances and exits, patrolling the site, reporting incidents, and responding to emergencies.
Responsibilities
- Controls access to the client site or facility through the admittance process
- Aids visitors with legitimate needs to enter the facility
- Communicates openly and honestly with visitors and clients
- Maintains an atmosphere of care and respect for client employees and visitors
- Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle
- Monitors entrances and exits, preventing unapproved or unlawful entry
- Inspects buildings and grounds for unsafe conditions and unauthorized persons
- Protects evidence and scene of incidents, setting up barriers and signage
- Prepares logs or reports as required for site
- Reports incidents or suspicious activity to relevant parties
- Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions
Requirements
Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.
Must be able to meet and continue to meet certification requirements for Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid from American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or G.E.D
- Basic Qualifications: United States citizenship preferred
- Education/Experience: Related experience preferred
- Background Prerequisites: Must undergo and meet company standards for background and reference checks, controlled substance testing, and behavioral selection survey, in addition to any mandatory licensing requirements

- Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures
- Ability to see, hear, speak, and write clearly in order to communicate with employees and clients
- Ability to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagrammatic form
