Security Officer (Commercial)

Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.

This role involves controlling access, monitoring entrances and exits, patrolling the site, reporting incidents, and responding to emergencies.

Controls access to the client site or facility through the admittance process
Aids visitors with legitimate needs to enter the facility
Screens visitors and client employees efficiently
Communicates openly, honestly, and responsively with visitors and clients
Maintains an atmosphere where client employees and visitors feel cared for
Patrols assigned site on foot or in vehicle
Checks for unsafe conditions, hazards, and unauthorized persons
Protects evidence and scene of incidents
Prepares logs or reports as required
Reports incidents or suspicious activity to relevant parties
Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, flooding, water discharge, elevator emergencies, hazardous materials, inclement weather, and other incidents or conditions

High School Diploma or G.E.D
Ability to acquire and maintain any other specific special clearances/access requirements
Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures
Basic life support CPR/AED and First Aid from American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
Good organizational skills
Ability to provide high quality customer service
Good interpersonal skills
Basic skills in keyboarding, computer usage, and operating controls

United States citizenship preferred
Ability to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers
Ability to meet and continue to meet certification requirements for Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid from American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
