Job Summary

Observes and reports activities and incidents at an assigned client site, providing for the security and safety of client property and personnel.

About the role

This role involves controlling access, monitoring entrances and exits, patrolling the site, reporting incidents, and responding to emergencies.

Responsibilities

Controls access to the client site or facility through the admittance process
Affords a courteous, respectful, and pleasant interaction with clients and visitors
Maintains an atmosphere where clients feel cared for and respond to their needs
Communicates information about the site and surrounding area as requested
Patrols the site on foot or in vehicle, checking for unsafe conditions and unauthorized persons
Protects evidence and scene of incidents, setting up barriers and signage
Prepares logs or reports as required for the site
Reports incidents or suspicious activity to relevant parties as necessary
Responds to incidents of fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, and other emergencies following established procedures
Ensures compliance with property removal policies and client standards
Identifies client products or materials among items carried by employees or visitors

Requirements

Must be able to meet and continue to meet any applicable state, county and municipal licensing requirements for Security Officers.

Must be able to meet and continue to meet certification requirements for Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid from American Heart Association or the American Red Cross.

Knowledge of or ability to learn security operations and procedures.

Basic skills in keyboarding, computer usage, and operating controls.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Basic qualification: United States citizenship preferred.
Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference depending upon the nature of the position.
Education/Experience: Related experience preferred.

Ability to write routine correspondence, including logs and reports.
