About the role

As an Unarmed Security Officer at a higher education location in New York, NY, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and deliver exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors. You will communicate clearly, respond professionally to concerns, and support a welcoming campus environment while reflecting Allied Universal’s values: agile, reliable, innovative, caring, teamwork-driven, and integrity-focused.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to students, faculty, staff, visitors, and other campus community members while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established campus protocols.
• Conduct regular and random foot and/or vehicle patrols of academic buildings, residence areas, grounds, parking locations, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and report unusual conditions, maintenance concerns, policy violations, or suspicious activity to the appropriate personnel.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and maintain professional communication with campus representatives, emergency responders, and Allied Universal leadership.

Requirements

• At least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws; Allied Universal considers qualified applications with criminal histories consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Pay

$20.40 - $21.40 per hour.
