About the role
As an Armed Security Screener at a government location in Miami, FL, you will screen individuals and belongings, monitor access points, and help maintain an orderly environment. You will provide professional customer service, communicate clearly with visitors and staff, and respond to security-related concerns in accordance with site procedures.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and security-related policies at a government location.
- Screen persons and permitted property using established screening equipment and procedures, escalating prohibited items, alarms, and unusual activity according to post instructions.
- Verify access credentials, direct visitors to appropriate check-in processes, and maintain orderly entry points in accordance with applicable procedures.
- Respond to incidents, screening alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, contacting appropriate personnel and emergency responders as directed.
- Complete required reports and logs related to screening activities, incidents, access concerns, and equipment status.
Requirements
- Possess at least 3 years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
- Be a graduate of a law enforcement or military police training program or equivalent.
- Possess an Armed Guard Card or License.
- Possess a college degree (preferred).
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED (client requirement).
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a Corrections Officer License or Law Enforcement Officer License (if applicable).
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Pay
$22.92 / hour
Schedule
- Part-time
- Daytime shifts: 07:00 AM – 04:00 PM
- Saturday and Sunday
