About the role
As an Armed Personnel Screening Security Officer in Miami, FL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government. As a Screener in a government location, you will help maintain a secure environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, verifying credentials, and communicating professionally with the public and site personnel. Your visible presence and attention to detail will help deter security-related incidents while delivering exceptional customer service.
Responsibilities
- Provide courteous customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out site-specific screening procedures and policies.
- Screen individuals and belongings using assigned screening equipment and established access-control procedures at a government location.
- Verify identification, credentials, and authorization for entry, and direct individuals to appropriate areas when needed.
- Respond to alarms, prohibited-item findings, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate personnel and document activities as required.
- Maintain awareness of screening-area conditions, report suspicious activity or unusual conditions, and help to deter unauthorized access.
Requirements
- At least two years of security-related experience.
- At least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
- Proof of a high school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age (18+ for unarmed roles).
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
