Security Officer Armed Security Screening

About the role

As an Armed Security Screening Officer in Virginia Beach, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in healthcare settings. You will help maintain a welcoming, secure environment by screening visitors, monitoring access points, responding to security-related concerns, and providing exceptional customer service. Your visible presence and clear communication will help deter incidents while supporting patients, visitors, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out site-specific procedures, screening protocols, and emergency response activities.
• Screen individuals entering the healthcare location in accordance with established visitor-management and access-control procedures.
• Communicate professionally with patients, visitors, and healthcare personnel while providing directions and explaining entry requirements.
• Respond to incidents, access concerns, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, waiting areas, and surrounding perimeter to help identify and report security-related concerns.

Requirements

• Possess an Armed Guard Card/License.
• Baton Certification is preferred.
• CPR Certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Full Time
• Day shift: 07:00 AM - 03:00 PM, Monday through Friday
