Security Officer Armed - Recruit
About the role
The Security Officer Armed Recruit role is a transitional position for newly hired Security Officers preparing to become fully Armed Security Officers. During a 120‑day transition period, incumbents complete all required training and certifications to carry a weapon and function as an Armed Security Officer. The primary function is to develop the necessary skills, training, and certifications for that progression.
Schedule
Second (Evenings) shift. Location: Elizabeth City, NC.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
- State DMV Motor Vehicle Record and current valid Driver’s license (Required)
- 1 year of security, military, or police experience (Preferred)
Qualifications & conditions
- Offer of employment is contingent on passing pre‑employment screening, including a fitness assessment and psychological evaluation.
- Once hired, incumbents have 120 days to successfully complete and obtain all job‑specific certifications as defined in the job profile. Failure to obtain these certifications within the prescribed timeframe will result in termination of employment.
- Annual fitness assessment is required.
- Psychological evaluations are required every 3 years as a condition of continued employment.
Pay
Base pay range for full‑time employment: $19.86 – $29.15 hourly. Additional compensation may be available, such as shift differentials, on‑call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra‑shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs.
