Security Officer Armed Patrol Operations

About the role
As an Armed Patrol Officer in Danbury, CT, you will monitor and patrol assigned areas at a naval power systems location, maintaining a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents. You will respond to situations with professionalism, communicate clearly, and deliver exceptional customer service. This is a part-time position with a flexible schedule built through our Claim a Shift platform.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and contractors while carrying out site-specific procedures and emergency response activities at a controlled industrial location.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of the facility, perimeter, access points, parking areas, and other assigned areas while observing and reporting unusual conditions.
- Monitor access control points, verify credentials, manage visitor and contractor entry procedures, and report access concerns to appropriate site personnel.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following established post orders and reporting requirements.
- Maintain required armed post qualifications, handle assigned equipment in accordance with applicable policies, and complete accurate activity and incident documentation.
Requirements
- Possess a valid armed guard card or license.
- A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
- CPR certification is preferred.
- Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

$30.00 / hour
