Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observed activity and communicating with supervisors and/or public sector contacts as needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Monitor access points, verify credentials where required, and support the control of entry and exit activity in accordance with post orders and site procedures.
• Support emergency and routine operations by providing visible presence, following reporting protocols, and coordinating with law enforcement and/or first responders when appropriate.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
• Possess an armed guard card and/or license.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
