Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Armed Patrol

About the Role

Allied Universal® is seeking a part‑time Security Officer – Enhanced (Armed Patrol Coordination) in Fairfax, VA. The position offers a flexible, dependable option for individuals looking to supplement income, gain hands‑on experience, or work toward a full‑time career with the industry leader. You will be assigned to a specific site with a fixed “anchor” shift and may pick up additional shifts through the Claim‑A‑Shift program.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, medical emergencies, disturbances, and other critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following established protocols.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout interior and exterior areas, including parking areas and the facility perimeter, to help deter unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify credentials as required, and report suspicious conditions or policy violations to appropriate personnel.
• Document incidents, observations, and patrol activity accurately, and communicate relevant information to Allied Universal leadership and site contacts.

Minimum Requirements

• At least 2 years of security‑related experience.
• Armed Guard Card/License.
• Virginia DCJS License.
• CPR/First Aid certification (preferred).
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Pay

$21.74 per hour.

Schedule

Daytime shift: Monday 07:30 AM – 06:00 PM. Fixed‑shift commitment of six months with the option to pick up extra shifts.
