Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a government location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, and problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with appropriate personnel as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
  • Monitor access points and restricted areas, verify authorized entry when required, and report security-related concerns, hazards, and/or policy violations in accordance with site procedures.
  • Support emergency and routine operations by following post orders, maintaining awareness of surroundings, and coordinating with supervisors, local agencies, and/or site representatives when needed.

Minimum Requirements

  • Possess a college degree.
  • Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Possess an Honorable Discharge DD214, an associate degree, 60 college credits, a police academy certificate, or a corrections academy certificate.
  • A handcuffing certification is preferred.
  • Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
