About the role
As a Security Officer Armed Patrol Deterrence in Greensboro, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government. You will conduct routine patrols, maintain a visible presence to help deter security-related incidents, and respond professionally to evolving situations. You will support a welcoming environment through exceptional customer service, clear communication, and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to visitors, employees, and members of the public while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities at a government location.
- Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, parking areas, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify unusual conditions.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, following established procedures and contacting emergency personnel as needed.
- Monitor access points and verify authorized entry in accordance with site-specific requirements, assisting with visitor direction and access control.
- Prepare clear and accurate reports regarding incidents, patrol activities, observations, and policy violations, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and Allied Universal supervision.
Requirements
- Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement, military, or security-related experience, or a college degree.
- Possess an armed guard card or license.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess 5 or more years of security-related experience.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws. Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
