As an Armed Security Officer Patrol Deterrence in Houston, TX, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as financial institutions. This part‑time position lets you build a schedule that works for you and explore new roles using the Claim a Shift platform. In this role you will monitor and patrol assigned areas, maintain a visible presence to deter security‑related incidents, and support a welcoming environment for employees and visitors. You will provide exceptional customer service, communicate professionally, and respond to security‑related concerns with integrity.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to personnel, visitors, and/or customers at a financial institution by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of banking areas, offices, parking facilities, entry points, and the surrounding perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or potential concerns.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, following site procedures and applicable laws.
• Maintain authorization and readiness to carry assigned equipment, including a firearm, in accordance with Allied Universal policies, client requirements, and applicable regulations.
• Document observations, incidents, and actions taken through accurate reports, and communicate relevant information to site leadership and/or emergency responders.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of armed security‑related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• An armed guard card or license is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Criminal‑history consideration consistent with applicable laws.
• Drug screening as permitted by law.
• Participation in industry‑specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license required for driving positions only.

Pay

$21.50 per hour.

Schedule

Daytime – Wednesday 1:30 PM – 5:30 PM; Thursday 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM.
