Security Officer Armed Mobile Patrol Driver

About the Role

As an Armed Mobile Patrol Driver in Spruce Pine, NC, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Government. You will conduct routine vehicle and foot patrols, maintain a visible presence to deter incidents, and respond to security-related concerns at a government corrections location. This role requires driving and is armed.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to staff, residents, visitors, and contractors by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, perimeter areas, access points, and parking areas to identify and report unusual activity, hazards, and policy violations.
• Monitor access to controlled areas, verify credentials, maintain visitor and contractor logs, and report unauthorized entry attempts.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, professional manner, following established post orders and escalation protocols.
• Prepare clear, accurate reports and daily activity logs; communicate observations and incidents to site leadership, law enforcement, or emergency personnel as required.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Valid driver’s license (required for driving positions).
• Armed guard card or license is preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to background investigation and drug screen as a condition of employment.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and may be required prior to employment.

Pay

$21.50 per hour.
