Security Officer Access Specialist
About the role
Join Allied Universal as a Security Officer in a healthcare location, where you will help support a welcoming environment through access control duties, badge verification, and routine patrols of assigned areas.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out access control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a healthcare location.
- Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas to help manage authorized access, verify credentials, and report unusual activity or policy concerns to the appropriate personnel.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with staff, visitors, and emergency services as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, paying attention to access points, high-traffic areas, and other security-related conditions that may vary by site.
- Support visitor management and customer service functions by providing directions, assisting with check-in processes, and helping to address questions or concerns in a professional manner.
Requirements
- Have at least 1 year of security-related experience.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Be comfortable using a computer or tablet, preferred.
- Have customer service experience, preferred.
- Have access control and/or badge experience, preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a valid driver’s license for driving positions only.
Skills
- Customer service experience.
- Access control and/or badge experience.
