About the role
As a Security Officer Access Governance in Lockport, IL, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a leading technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will help manage entry points, verify authorized access, monitor activity, and provide professional customer service. Your visible presence and clear communication will help deter security-related incidents while supporting a welcoming environment for employees and visitors.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities at a technology-focused location.
- Monitor access points and verify credentials, visitor registrations, and authorization requirements before permitting entry to restricted areas.
- Maintain accurate visitor, contractor, and access-related records, including issuing and collecting badges, keys, and other authorized access devices.
- Respond to access-control alarms, incidents, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of entry points, lobby areas, parking areas, and the business perimeter to help deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

- Day shift: Monday–Thursday, 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
