Security Officer - Access Administration

About the Role

As a Security Officer Access Administration in Front Royal, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in industries such as Retail/Malls and more. You will monitor entry points, verify credentials, manage visitor access, and conduct routine patrols to help deter security-related incidents. This role provides outstanding customer service and clear communication while supporting a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor and control access to the retail distribution location by verifying credentials, documenting visitor and vendor entry, and directing authorized personnel to designated areas.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns according to site procedures.
• Maintain accurate access logs, incident reports, and other required documentation while communicating professionally with employees, drivers, vendors, and visitors.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entry points, loading areas, and the business perimeter to help identify unauthorized access or unusual activity.

Requirements

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Guard card or license is preferred.
• Access control or badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• Subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
