Security Officer Access Gatehouse
About the role
As a Security Officer Access Gatehouse in Kansas City, KS, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Chemical/Petrochemical, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic chemical and petrochemical location, where you will help manage access control, monitor assigned areas, conduct routine patrols, and remain visible to help discourage security-related incidents.
Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and contractors by following site-specific access control procedures, verifying credentials, and supporting security-related protocols at the location.
- Monitor entry and exit points, manage visitor and vendor sign-in processes, and help to deter unauthorized access to restricted areas, materials, and equipment.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and communicate with site contacts, emergency services, and/or Allied Universal leadership as needed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around buildings, gates, yards, and perimeter areas to observe conditions, report unusual activity, and document security-related concerns.
- Support vehicle and delivery screening activities, maintain accurate logs and reports, and follow site procedures for hazardous or sensitive operational areas.
Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Pass a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Pass a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licenses are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
Qualifications
